Compliance & ethics

Compliance isn't a final check. It's how we choose suppliers.

Goods that fail regulations get held at ports, recalled or delisted. We build your market's rules into the brief, choose suppliers who can meet them, and keep the evidence on file.

How we work

Compliance, built in from the brief.

  1. 01

    Map

Identify the regulations and retailer standards that apply to each product and market.

  2. 02

    Qualify

Shortlist only suppliers who can meet them — materials, finishes, certifications.

  3. 03

    Test

Coordinate sampling and testing with accredited labs at the right stage.

  4. 04

    Document

Keep reports, certificates and labelling evidence organised and audit-ready.

Regulations

The rules your goods have to meet.

The standards we handle most often. Tell us your market and product and we'll map anything else that applies.

European Union

REACH

Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals

Restricts hazardous substances in products sold in the EU. We screen materials, dyes and finishes and coordinate testing where needed.

United States

CPSIA

Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act

Sets limits for lead and phthalates in children's products and requires third-party testing and tracking labels. We map requirements per SKU.

Global

ISPM 15

International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15

Requires wooden packaging such as pallets and crates to be heat-treated and stamped. We check treatment and marks before loading.

Certified suppliers

ISO-certified factories, where it matters.

We prioritise suppliers certified to international management-system standards and verify that certificates are valid.

ISO 9001

Quality management

Consistent processes for producing to specification.

ISO 14001

Environmental management

Systems to manage and reduce environmental impact.

ISO 45001

Occupational health & safety

Safer workplaces and managed worker-safety risks.

Ethics

Our ethical sourcing commitments

No restricted materials

We do not work with ivory, tortoiseshell or any CITES-restricted materials — no exceptions.

By-products only

Horn and bone products are sourced only as by-products of the food industry, with origin documented.

Working conditions

Factory audits include working conditions, and corrective actions are agreed before production.

Your code of conduct

Share your supplier code and we audit against it, alongside our own checks.

FAQ

Quality & compliance questions

We monitor production and run a pre-shipment inspection using AQL 2.5 for major defects and 4.0 for minor defects, with photo-documented reports. Stricter levels are available if your product requires them.

We regularly work with REACH (EU), CPSIA (US children's products) and ISPM 15 (wooden packaging), and with suppliers certified to ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001. Testing is coordinated with accredited labs.

Yes. We do not work with ivory, tortoiseshell or any CITES-restricted materials. Horn and bone products are sourced only as by-products, with origin documented.

Our AI-assisted tools help us discover candidates; then a member of our team verifies each supplier's registration, export credentials and capability before it is shown to any buyer. Factory audits add an on-site check before you commit.
