Outcome we drive: artwork and copy that look on-brand and also clear regulators—first time, every time.
What we verify on every pack
- Mandatory statements & placement (name of product, net content, manufacturer/importer, dates, origin, warnings).
- Regulatory marks & symbols (CE/UKCA, WEEE bin, FCC Part 15 text, recycling icons where allowed).
- Font sizes & legibility rules (x-height, contrast, panel order).
- Barcodes & data (GS1 GTIN assignment; ISO/IEC verification so codes scan).
- Market-specific extras (nutrition/allergens, cosmetics ingredients, toy age-grading, chemicals pictograms).
The rulebooks we build into your artwork
- EU food labels (FIC 1169/2011): mandatory particulars must meet the x-height ≥ 1.2 mm (or 0.9 mm if largest surface < 80 cm²). We measure x-height on your artboards before release.
- India retail packs: Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011 drive declarations like MRP, month/year, net quantity and name/address; we pull the current LMPC text from the Department of Consumer Affairs and the Rules themselves.
- India food labels: FSSAI Labelling & Display Regulations, 2020—we place FSSAI license, veg/non-veg symbol, nutrition panel, allergen statements as prescribed.
- UK product marks: CE is recognised indefinitely in Great Britain for most sectors, so we can keep dual-market CE artwork (and add UKCA only where needed).
- US electronics: FCC Part 15 labeling text and/or SDoC requirements in a conspicuous location (per 47 CFR §15.19).
- US country-of-origin: exterior pack or product must state the English name of the country of origin (19 CFR Part 134); we position COO where it’s conspicuous and durable.
- Children’s products (US): we validate CPSIA tracking labels and confirm lead ≤ 100 ppm in accessible parts for compliance statements.
- Chemicals & mixtures (EU): we apply CLP label elements correctly—pictograms, signal word, H/P-statements sized and placed per ECHA guidance.
- EEE recycling: the crossed-out wheeled bin (WEEE) must appear on EEE for the EU; we use the correct symbol and minimum sizes.
- Textiles (EU): fibre-content wording and animal-origin notes per Regulation (EU) 1007/2011.
- California warnings: where applicable, Prop 65 safe-harbor wording (short-form now requires at least one chemical name under OEHHA’s update).
Barcode & data checks (so it scans everywhere)
- We assign GTINs from your GS1 prefix and verify EAN-13/UPC-A against ISO/IEC 15416 (quiet zones, x-dimension, print contrast). You receive verification grades and placement notes aligned to GS1 General Specifications.
How our “Compliance Branding Check” works
- Artwork intake: we import your AI/PDF files and map every mandatory element by market (EU/UK/US/India).
- Redline review: we annotate the file with clause-by-clause comments (e.g., FIC x-height, LMPC declarations, FCC §15.19 text, WEEE symbol).
- Barcode verification: we run ISO/IEC 15416 tests and share a pass/fail report with fixes if needed.
- Final sign-off pack: updated print-ready files + a citations sheet linking each requirement to its source law or guidance.
Quick examples (what we fix most often)
- Font size miss on EU food packs: body copy at 1.0 mm x-height → corrected to ≥1.2 mm (or 0.9 mm on small packs).
- India LMPC gaps: missing MRP or month/year on outer shipper → added per LMPC Rules to avoid detention.
- Electronics label text: absent FCC Part 15 statement → added on device or packaging in the required field of view.
- EEE symboling: WEEE bin omitted → added with compliant dimensions on device and packaging.
- Barcodes failing at DCs: quiet zone too small → resized to GS1 specs and re-verified to ISO/IEC 15416.
Your deliverables
- Compliance Redline PDF (annotations tied to the exact clause: FIC/LMPC/FSSAI/FCC/CLP/Prop 65/etc.).
- Barcode Verification Report (ISO/IEC 15416 grades + GS1 placement notes).
- Final Print-Ready Files with legally correct marks, COO statements, and symbols.
Bottom line: IndiaUnbox blends brand design with hard law—we turn your packaging into a compliant, scannable, ready-to-sell asset across EU/UK/US/India without last-minute relabels or customs surprises.
