2) Materials & size envelope
- Carbon & alloy steels: IS 2062, C45/EN8, 20MnCr5/16MnCr5, EN19/42CrMo4, EN24/4340.
- Stainless: 304/304L, 316/316L, 410/420/431, 17-4PH (on request).
- Aluminium: 6061-T6, 6082-T6, 7075-T6; cast grades LM6/LM25/ADC12.
- Copper alloys: brass C360/CuZn39Pb3, CZ121, phosphor bronze PB1, gunmetal.

3) Processes (end-to-end)
- CNC turning, mill-turn, 3/4/5-axis milling, gun/deep-hole drilling, tapping, thread rolling/cutting, broaching, slotting, gear hobbing/shaping (select), honing & lapping, surface/OD/centerless grinding, balancing.
- Castings/forgings: sand, shell & investment casting, gravity/HPDC aluminium, closed-die forging.
- Heat treatment: normalise, Q&T, case carburise, carbonitriding, induction harden, nitriding; hardness charts supplied.
- Surface finishing: zinc (tri-valent) & nickel plating, black oxide, phosphate (Mn/Zn), anodising (clear/colour), hard-anodise, e-coat/powder-coat, passivation to ASTM A967, electropolish; shot-blast, vibro-tumble, deburr.
4) Tolerances, finishes & threads (typical)
- Dimensional: ± 0.01–0.03 mm turning/milling (± 0.005 mm on critical features).
- Form/position: roundness 0.01 mm, concentricity 0.02 mm, flatness/perpendicularity 0.05/100 mm.
- Surface roughness: Ra 0.8–3.2 μm (grinding to 0.2–0.4 μm).
- Threads: ISO metric (M), UNC/UNF, BSPP/BSPT, NPT/NPTF; gauges supplied; Class 2/3 fits; Helicoil inserts on request.
- GD&T: to ASME Y14.5—CMM reports provided.
5) Quality & testing toolkit
- Incoming material verified with EN 10204 3.1 MTCs (heat traceability).
- FAI/PPAP (Lvl-3) & APQP for auto programs; control plans & SPC.
- CMM, height gauges, bore/air gauges, profilometer, spectrometer (alloys), hardness (HB/HRC), roughness Ra, thread/hole gauges.
- NDT: MPI/DPI/UT; pressure & leak tests (helium or air), hydrostatic proof; salt-spray for plating, coating thickness per ISO 2178/2360.
6) Prototypes, MOQs & lead time
- Bar-stock prototypes: 5–7 days from DFM approval.
- Casting/forging tooling: pattern/die 2–4 weeks → machined sample 3–5 weeks.
- MOQs (guide): bar-stock machining 50–100 pcs/SKU; cast/forged + machining 200–500 pcs/SKU; standard fasteners 2,000+ pcs.
- Lead time: repeat machining 4–6 weeks; cast/forged programs 6–8 weeks repeat (10–14 weeks first lot incl. tooling).
7) What to share to start
2D drawings with tolerances + STEP/IGES models, material grade, heat-treat/coating specs, critical-to-quality (CTQ) features, inspection level (FAI/PPAP), annual volumes & target price band, packaging/cleanliness needs (VCI/oil-free/ultrasonic clean), and any standards (ASME/ISO/NACE/PED).
