Outcome we drive: engineering-accurate samples, verified against standards, so your first production run is right the first time.
How we prototype (fast + controlled)
- Capture & freeze requirements
We translate your drawings/specs into a clear GD&T language (ASME Y14.5) so every critical-to-quality (CTQ) feature is measurable and unambiguous. - Plan per ISO 9001 (design & development)
Prototyping follows a documented plan—inputs → controls → outputs → change control—mapped to ISO 9001:2015, clause 8.3. That means traceable decisions and approvals at each gate. - Build using the right route
3D printing, soft tooling (silicone/urethane), CNC, or pilot molds—chosen to replicate production processes where it matters (surface finish, tolerance, material behavior). - Verify with standard tests (fit, function, compliance)
- Dimensional conformity: First-article checks against the drawing/3D model; for aerospace or where required, we can run a full AS9102 FAI.
- Ingress/environment (for E&E enclosures): IP tests planned to IEC 60529 (IPXX).
- Packaging/protection (if ship-test is in scope): Transit test plans (ISTA/ASTM) can be added to ensure the sample survives the real world.
- Lab credibility: Critical tests are done at NABL-accredited (ISO/IEC 17025) laboratories in India for defensible results.
- Dimensional conformity: First-article checks against the drawing/3D model; for aerospace or where required, we can run a full AS9102 FAI.
- Accept using objective sampling
Pilot lots are accepted/rejected with AQL-based plans per ISO 2859-1 or India’s identical IS 2500-1—so “pass” or “fail” isn’t subjective. - Industrialization hand-off (if automotive/regulated)
When your category demands it, we compile a PPAP package (commonly Level 3) covering design records, dimensional results, control plan, and more—so your customer signs off the process, not just the part.
What you approve (and why it’s audit-ready)
- Pre-production prototype(s) built to your cosmetic & functional spec.
- Dimensional inspection report (GD&T features called out; ballooned drawing + results).
- Test dossier (IP/functional/packaging as applicable) with NABL 17025 lab certificates.
- AQL plan & results for pilot lots (ISO 2859-1 / IS 2500-1).
- Change-control log & risk register aligned to ISO 9001:2015 8.3—so every tweak is recorded before tooling.
- (If required) PPAP file with the agreed submission level and elements.
Why this reduces launch risk
- Clarity of intent: GD&T under ASME Y14.5 eliminates interpretation gaps between buyer, designer, and factory.
- Standard-anchored checks: Using ISO 9001 for process control, ISO/IS 2859-1 for acceptance, IEC 60529 for IP claims, and NABL 17025 labs for testing makes approvals defensible to customers and regulators.
- Production-ready evidence: Where markets demand it (e.g., auto, aerospace), PPAP/FAI closes the loop from sample to stable production.
Your deliverables
- Prototype Pack: samples, finish standards, and color chips.
- Inspection & Test Reports: dimensional, functional, and (if scoped) IP/packaging results with lab accreditations.
- Approval Bundle: AQL summary, change log, and sign-off checklist per ISO 9001:2015 8.3; optional PPAP/FAI files by category.
Bottom line: IndiaUnbox turns prototypes into evidence—measured, tested, and traceable—so your mass production starts on solid ground.
