Sustainability & Compliance

1) Preferred standards & fibres

  • OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 for garments; MADE IN GREEN (traceable) on request.
  • GRS/RCS for recycled polyester/cotton; GOTS for organic cotton; BCI support; Fairtrade (select partners).
  • Higg FEM/FSLM scores available across partner mills; bluesign®/STeP by OEKO-TEX® where applicable.

2) Chemical management (RSL/MRSL)

  • ZDHC MRSL v3.1 alignment for all wet processes (dyeing/printing/finishing).
  • REACH Annex XVII & SVHC screening; Prop 65 risk assessment as needed.
  • Azo-dye banned list, APEO/NPEO-free, phthalate-free plastisols, formaldehyde low limits (≤75 mg/kg apparel-adjacent unless tighter spec).
  • PFAS-free C0 DWR available; nickel-safe metal trims; PVC-free transfers an option.

3) Product safety & labelling

  • US: FTC Textile/Care Label Rules; CPSIA for children’s (total lead, phthalates, tracking label).
  • EU/UK: EU 1007/2011 fibre names; ISO 3758 care symbols; EN 14682 cords & drawstrings for children’s garments.
  • Flammability (where applicable): children’s sleepwear CFR 1615/1616; nightwear/robes per market rules.
  • Performance verification: pilling (ISO 12945), colour fastness wash/rub/light (ISO/AATCC), dimensional change (AATCC 135/ISO 6330), spirality, bursting/tear strength, stretch & recovery, wicking/UPF claims (AATCC 195/183), DWR spray ratings.

4) Social & ethical compliance

  • Audits: SMETA/SEDEX, BSCI, SA8000 coverage in cluster; no child/forced labour; fair wages & working hours; grievance mechanisms.
  • Health & Safety: PPE in dye/print, needle policy & metal detection on export lines, ergonomics at sewing, first-aid & emergency drills.

5) Environmental stewardship (mills & dye houses)

  • ETP/CETP with ZLD/RO reuse where available; sludge via authorised handlers.
  • Low-liquor-ratio dyeing, dope/cationic dye options to cut re-dye water; heat-recovery on stenters; solar PV adoption.
  • Waste segregation (cone/thread/fabric off-cuts) and recycling; carton/core recovery.

6) Packaging sustainability & EPR

  • PCR polybags (30–70% PCR) with recycling marks; FSC® hangtags/inserts; mono-material packs for easy recycling.
  • EPR-ready per-SKU pack BoM (paper/plastic/metal/textile) for EU/UK/US filings; market-specific polybag thickness & suffocation warnings met.

7) Documentation you receive

  • Certificates (OEKO-TEX/GOTS/GRS/RCS/BCI/Fairtrade) tied to PO/SKU/lot + Transaction Certificates where applicable.
  • RSL compliance statements; lab test reports (chemistry + physical performance); CPSIA/EN 14682 reports for kidswear.
  • Label proofs (US/EU/UK), COO certificates; ISTA pack test; barcode grade report; EPR BoM.
  • Pre-shipment Compliance Pack PDF mapped to PO/SKU/lot numbers.

8) Timelines & inputs

  • Compliance scoping: 24–48 h • Lab tests: 5–12 days • Kidswear cords/flammability: 7–10 days • Pre-ship pack: 3–5 days before dispatch.
